I bought as many comics as I could as a kid, but there were 5 kids in my family so pocket money was modest, to put it mildly. It was usually 4 or 5, supplemented by reading the Beano, Judy, Jackie and Mandy after my older cousin Liz was finished with them.
Like Phil, I sometimes succumbed to the lure of a free gift in hithero unexplored comics.
