Terry Nation created the tv series The Survivors in the 70's.it was recently remade But got cancelled due to a real worry ..of swine flu...fantasy becoming reality..

Also in Beezer of the 60's ken Hunter drew the Survivors But this time not a virus wiping out mankind But strange meteors causing it..I have an example up at my blog...use Ken Hunter label..

I was just on your site actually (the art one rather than the regular one), I needed the name of an artist and it's a good place to go and I was pleased to see you have Number 13/Number 13 Beano Street on there, I like that strip and it's quite hard to find pictures of any of the cast.

Also Ken Hunter drew some good stuff, your site tells me he's responsible for The Jellymen, Mr Flippy and Dive With a Dolphin. (Having grown up on American comics I'm sad to say I remain quite ignorant of British artists who never crossed the pond, especially as so few were credited in the comics, unlike in their American counterparts, well post Silver Age anyway).

anyone know much about this strip..remember kids don't copy what he does..

Been enjoying looking at Mike Western's covers for Valiant on Lew's blog and ebay..love the is it true feature best..these covers would make a great book.anyone got a favourite Valiant cover by Mike..

Nice blog Robbie, it's great you can combine your hobby/business with that lovely artwork. I like the "Mermaid on the rocks" covers! And the stunning "stag" artwork.

I also like artwork that involves the ocean, and have some original artwork with scuba diving in them.

"Alona the wild one" from "Princess Tina" has some nice scuba diving scenes if you are interested just let me know and I can send you some scans?

I'm amazed you have no images from Sea Hunt the sixties tv series starring Lloyd Bridges. I had a Sea Hunt annual until I sold it on ebay last year. I'm sure there were some Dell/Gold Key Sea Hunt comics too.

I was just looking through some annuals to put on ebay and found this scuba diving piece in a Cinema Club annual.

And in a 1964 ITV Annual I found an eight page Mike Western strip of No Hiding Place (and I still remember the theme music). Beautiful artwork.

Peter, the Ironmaster strip is drawn by Bill Lacey who also drew the Last Boys in the World strip posted earlier in the thread. His other work includes Catweazle (TV Comic), Mytek the Mighty (Valiant), Eagles Over the Western Front and The Man Who Searched for Fear (both Look and Learn).

Mike Western did so many wonderful Valiant covers it's hard to choose but this is another favourite. It's slightly unusual in featuring one of the strips rather than the usual cover feature.

Did you get the recent Showcase Presents reprint of DC's Sea Devils Robbie? Fantastic stuff throughout, with some amazing covers - I'm surprised I couldn't find any Russ Heath on your blog (though I suspect you've just been waiting for the right moment).

It's a very impressive site with a great theme - also, If you really have copies of all the art featured you must have a truly amazing collection!
