Bob Hope and his black manservant, played beautifully by Willie Best in an age when comedy wasn't as PC as it is today, help the gorgeous Paulette Goddard lay the ghosts in her recently inherited aristocratic pile situated on a
Caribbean island. Don't recall a scene with Bob and Willie as skeletons though.

The 1953 remake of Ghost Breakers, called Scared Stiff (starring Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin) feature cameos by Bob Hope and Bing Crosby as skeletons..could that be what you're remembering?

Probably the one I recall ,JaKob! I only saw it once, many years ago; I will hunt it out to relive this surreal skeleton scene once again: it's haunted my memory for decades!

This forum has so many handy uses.........

The image has been saved to my hard drive, Jakob! Last time I saw this image was probably about 1970 or thereabouts! Are you into vintage horror stuff or comedy from this period in a big way, then?

The skeletons image would make a good avatar, incidentally.......

I'm not a huge fan of either horror or american comedy from that era, but i did have a flash of recognition when i read your query. but couldn't remember what it was from

I did a search for "Bob Hope" skeleton, and the third result was a reference to Bob's cameo in this. When I read the entry I immediately remembered seeing the film years ago :-)

I never thought of the Beano and Dandy et al as I did my Marvel weeklies. They were a genuine collection. My funnies just did not get thrown away. One day I was given the choice of keeping my Marvel's or my funnies during a house move and it was an easy win for Marvel. The sad thing is most of those B&W Marvel's are worthless and unwanted by me or anyone else due to Graphic novels and Essential collections and yet you can't get hold of much in the way of Whizzer & Chips or Krazy comic with out parting for good money.
