It's not like the spammers have helped matters either...

On a more light-hearted note, my younger sister once vandalised an issue of the Beano by scribbling on Dennis to make him look girly and adding a speech caption saying 'Hi I am called Daisy'. (Dennis would not have been happy!!!)
It was annoying but at the same time it was quite funny. After that, though, I learned to keep my valuable comics away from her!

To my shame I once grabbed hold of an old Action Man annual and used it for target practice during a spot of air rifle shooting. Not only was I ruining a perfectly good book that I had safely stored in my attic for years I was aiming at a British soldier! What was I thinking!!!

Re: Vandalism!
In one 80's Beano someone sent a letter to Roger's Dodge Clinic because his dad kept drawing glasses on Roger! I think Roger dodged it by wearing a mask or some sunglasses or something.. Can't exactly remember how the strip went.
When I originally bought the Beano and Dandy sometimes during 2002/2003, I'd sometimes read my comics in bead but then forgot to put them back before I went to sleep, so in the morning it would be a crumpled mess! This may be the reason I don't have any of my old 2002/2003 Beanoes and Dandies left, though I remember reading some of my second hand 2002 Beano issues from when I bought the issues new.
Not quite comic related, by I had a Thomas the Tank engine 1993 annual, and when I was about 4 or 5 I gave all the engines bushy eyebrows and moustaches! Don't know where that book's got to now. May have been binned.

Don't worry about it. The Americans have been doing it for years....presterjohn wrote:To my shame I once grabbed hold of an old Action Man annual and used it for target practice during a spot of air rifle shooting. I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
