No he won't, steelclaw. However, I suspect that the board will be trying to persuade him tomorrow that he will have to pay out some handsome money for some experienced quality players, rather than the youngsters who were bought for the future but are now having to plug gaps all over the field, jobs they are not yet trained up for. I think you are just being mischievous, trying to draw our attention away from another abject performance this weekend - and no, I'm not referring to Bolton's. Bad though it was, they only lost 3-1 at Liverpool where most teams will lose this season, and last week only 3-2 at home to Manchester City. Now let me just check up on how Manchester City got on yesterday. Oh,oh!!!!! Sorry, I should have remembered, seeing as I watched the match on ESPN.

Not for too long hopefully, and with Blackburn and West Brom also pointless it is only goal difference that's keeping you bottom - you did admittedly have a very tough start against the two Manchester clubs (I suspect the cancelled Everton match would have been a good chance to get some points on the board). Also, although they have two points, Swansea have yet to score a single goal. It's a dreadful cliche but if you don't score you can't win.

However, it would be very kind of you to wait until after the mighty Reds visit White Hart Lane before getting your season running.

I think Spurs will be lucky to get a point from Liverpool.
as you say Spurs have had a tough start 2 of the 4 top teams.

A couple of days late, but what a bizarre end to the transfer window...

I think yesterday showed that Arsenal shouldn't have left it to the last minute to bring players in. The Manchester clubs and Liverpool all conducted their business early, and signed the players they wanted, whereas Arsenal's reward for leaving it until the end is Mikel Arteta, a player who is five years older than Fabregas but in my opinion not fit to lace his boots, as well as being injury-prone and having no international experience.

People have criticised Arsenal for not signing experienced players, but in this case I don't feel they have got a good deal. I think they could have done much better for themselves if they had let Fabregas and Nasri leave earlier (I don't think there was any point in hanging on to them, they clearly wanted to leave). The signing of Oxlade-Chamberlain was bizarre, as Arsenal don't need him right now - the money spent on Arteta and him could have gone on a better player, such as Juan Mata. Benayoun is a fairly good player, but I don't think he offers anything more as a player to them than their existing ones (like Rosicky and Arshavin, he's aged about 30, plays mainly as an attacking midfielder but can do a job on the wing and is his national side's captain). The defenders seem OK signings though, as does Park Chu Young.

On a personal level, I think it was a shame that we lost Meireles but we do have other players who can play in the same position so it isn't a massive worry. I am pleased to see Bellamy back, I don't think it's any coincidence that in his one season at Anfield our best form came when he was fit, in the team and scoring goals. I won't miss the likes of Christian Poulsen or Joe Cole, and I think we did a great job in offloading them.

Match of the Day 2 got their `stats` wrong a couple weeks back! They stated last time Wolves were Tiop was Oct 1962! No! It was 29 August 1973 just before Leeds took over No 1 for rest of the season!

I am pleased to see Bellamy back, I don't think it's any coincidence that in his one season at Anfield our best form came when he was fit, in the team and scoring goals.

When Liverpool visited the Reebok in that 2007/08 season Bellamy fizzed around like a headless chicken, mainly on the left wing because he couldn't get through the middle, so making a significant contribution to Bolton's well-deserved 2-0 victory.

I remember that match - I think Rafa Benitez's team selection helped too, as he made five changes to the team that had won in the Champions League in midweek, including bringing Bellamy, out of form and distracted by a court case, in place of Peter Crouch who had excelled in the previous match.

Unfortunately, don't expect too much from David N'Gog. His first couple of seasons were mixed, ranging from some well taken goals to displays where he didn't look remotely like scoring. Last year I had hoped he would improve, but instead he became even less effective - most of his goals came against weak opposition in the Europa League, his presence up front seemed to grind our attacks to a halt, and some of his misses were terrible.
