Sorry for the double post but I'm just reporting this weeks Beano is in the shops in Rotherham today.

Has everyone else got theirs?

Yeah, the local newsagent had it in (which makes a change, usually they're a couple of days late putting it out).

Bah. No Beano or BeanoMAX in WHSmith today. I guess the delivery must've been late due to the bank holiday. I assume they'll turn up tomorrow.

I wonder if the VIP guest in this weeks issue visited The Beano office?

The Ball Boy strip is a bit suspisious this week.

Is the retirement thing just a joke or is this his final appearance. I raised my eyebrows at the 38 years joke.

Joke. 38 years is how long it's been running for. It was the first one by a new writer - Andy Fanton, the former Dandy artist who also writes Little Plum.

I miss the strips of the old Beano characters..
Little Plum or Simon's Bowel no contenst in my mind..

I liked the long story and how it tied up at the end with mentioning other pages like Bananaman so that was good..

The Numbskulls as I don't watch the Voice was a bit alien for me...didn't know he had a catch phrase dope! very druggy! so not sure about it yet..

Ball boy might be too much for younger kids...also very wordy...
I see his father has also aged with Ball Boy so a nice touch..

Can't stand fight my monster..

Poco loco what is this based on for kids?
I'm getting old.. :P

It will take time to get used to the changes..

Sounds a tad horrendous that does, Pete!

I'll have a look through it in the shop, but from what you're describing there the 75th birthday Beano may well be my last ever Beano :(
