Thanks Richard for another interesting post. Not surprised it cost 2.5 million dollars back then ,could probably be made a lot cheaper these days but the techniques shown were cutting edge at the time.
And I only know that as I read your previous post about this tv show and then got the DVD.I hadn't known of its existence before you mentioned it.
It's actually quite enjoyable over a beer if you are a Dan Dare fan.

Just to prove (to myself) that there's always something new to discover...here's an edition of a Dan Dare comic, produced 17 years ago, that I was unaware of until very recently. Art by Dave Gibbons. Anyone got a spare copy?

The deluxe leatherbound edition of the Frank Hampson biography 'Tomorrow revisited' came with a unique Don Harley painting. I'd love to see more examples of these paintings, so each time I see a copy of this book up for sale from now on I'll add it to this gallery...

I'm always happy to feature the non-Dan Dare work of artists who worked on the original Eagle version and today it's the turn of Harold Johns and this piece of his artwork that was up for sale recently.

'Tomorrow revisited' is THE guide to the art of Frank 'Dan Dare' Hampson. Special leatherbound editions of the book come with a new piece of Dan Dare art by Don Harley. I'm trying to log these examples of Harley's art, here's what I've found so far...

These wonderful examples of Frank 'Dan Dare' Hampson's art were up for sale recently. Painted long after he's stopped work on the strip. I was interested to see that the Mekon image went for the most money. I'd have got the Dan one myself.
