What comics DIDN'T you buy today?

There was an Adventures of Robin Hood annual no. 3 in Deptford market with Ron Embleton art throughout. Unfortunately some pesky kid had drawn on nearly every page. Would have cost £1.

The last few weeks I have been more in a saving mode being only interested in buying mainly pre 70s comic items and with that being so I have found little of interest.
At todays carboot I came across the large book THE HISTORY OF THE BEANO, I liked the earlier information it contained and the illustrations were good.The chap wanted £4 for it(which was an ok offer).On my second wander around still trying to keep rigidly to my pre 70s buying program I did in fact offer £2 for it, to which to be fair was a cheeky offer and he did come down to £3 but I was not persuaded to buy it.
One other stall had an older looking comic book called the ADVENTURE TWINS .This had some slight wear on the inside cover and the art work didn't excite therefore I didn't even inquire about the price and left it, both books I normally would have bought but as stated I was in saving mode .
Will be picking up more items when I decide to go back into normal spending mode.

Didn't buy the new issue of Tales from the Tardis yet - when I went to get it and DWM from WHSmith they still had the previous issues of both Doctor Who publications out. They had both this month's and last month's DWM, so I was still able to get that.

I also noticed they still had DC Legends: Wonder Woman #3, which should've been taken off sale when DC Legends: Suicide Squad #1 came out this week. WHSmith need to get their act together.

Aren't you being unduly harsh on W H Smiths, Digi? Presumably if they had got their act together you wouldn't have been able to buy last month's Doctor Who Monthly.

No I didn't, Digi. I just assumed that 'Monthly' was what M stood for. Furthermore you may not be aware, even though I'm sure I've mentioned it before on some thread or other, that as I now have all the story papers I want or need, I no longer buy new comics for myself, although I do from time to time get Disney Princess and My Little Pony for my granddaughter Aurora. She starts at a primary school in September so I may well take out a subscription to The Phoenix for her. I have the first eight, which I found interesting, but comixminx has recommended the title on the forum quite recently. Apart from those, the last new comic I bought for myself was issue 1 of The Official Jacqueline Wilson Mag, and that was the issue for Feb. 17 - Mar. 18 2010. I didn't buy issue 2, and I don't anticipate buying any more of them for myself, or any other title for that matter, and moreover I can't even remember the last time I went into Smith's. It was probably just before last Christmas.

Missed out on over 100 comics, including 60 Alan Class at an auction in Berkshire. With postage at a massive £30, it was always going to be tough.

Missed out on Spellbound #1 by L Miller (1960 I think) yesterday, which went for much more than I expected at £82. The same seller also sold the Spellbound magazine for £46.

Saw Titan's Batman in WHSmith today - a title that they haven't had for months. I'm not a fan of the character, so I didn't buy a copy, but this is a heads up for those of you who are.

Oxfam had some old annuals on show in the window.These included some boys/girls story annuals, Bobby Bear annual,Pinky and Perky annual, Scorcher annual and the one that caught my attention with a great cover was BONNY ANNUAL an hardback by GERALD SWAN.I took it out of the window display and looking through found it to be around 60/40 story to comic strip.I was disappointed with the contents they didn't have the wow factor and therefore I decided not to buy it.Great cover and priced at £4.99 but one I gave a miss to this time.

One of the charity shops in Dunfermline has nearly the entire 1970s run of Look and Learn and the art in them is amazing. But there is no way I could justify spending over £100 on comics that I like but don't collect on a serious basis. If anyone is interested, it is the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland shop in Dunfermline and it is next door to the Cancer Research UK shop on the High Street.

Decided not to go for an auction (not online) for a bunch of Alan Class. Postage and auction costs would make them untenable if they went for remotely list price.

Annoyingly, they went substantially under list price, so it would have made sense, even with the add-ons. If the bidder lived around that area, they got a real bargain.

Up around the Yorkshire Dales atm and popped into an antique shop, amazed to see a big box of mostly late 70s early 80s Dandy, 2000AD and Victor.

£2.50 each!!!! Yea Ill pass on those thanks.
