I remember him having videos of it). Also i seem to remember a brief rise in popularity of the toys at the same time... though that might just have been my brother getting into it and so i noticed it more.
I believe the Action Man cartoon was supposed to appear on Sky One, in autumn 1996. But it got cancelled, as Fox Kids Network (later Jetix, now called Disney XD) launched on October 19th that year, taking most of Sky One's kids shows with it. Since some of the videos/DVDs are labelled with the Fox Kids and Jetix logos, obviously Action Man was among these, but they never broadcast it.

It's been a while but I managed to win two copies of Judy from 1968 on ebay for just 99 pence each.

I've just won an eBay auction for eighteen of the only twenty issues of Boys' Favourite Library, which were published by Panmure between 1948 and 1950, usually monthly. All twenty were written by Edward R. Home-Gall, one of the stalwarts from The Champion. It will be some nostalgia-fest when they arrive. I paid £42, which values each one at roughly £2.30. The standard shop value is about £5. I think I've got a bargain, even though some will duplicate ones I've already got.

Today I've received Gold Token Book Super Mag, # 9 from May 1964, published by London's Young World Publications. It's a comic adaptation of the Disney version of Treasure Island with a colour photo from the film on the front cover, and not bad full colour art throughout, probably a US Gold Key reprint. Walt Disney himself claims to be the editor, with a message on page 2. Hmmm. (Other issues featured the likes of Champion the Wonder Horse, Dr. Syn, Space Patrol and Lady and the Tramp.) An interesting obscure find. And it only cost 50p.
Also: the five consecutive Cor!!s I mentioned earlier, and the 15th April 1972 issue does indeed feature the final part of the Kid Chameleon serial. At last I know how it all ends. "And so he ran towards the setting sun ... and a thousand reptilian voices were raised in welcome!"

I went to the comic mart on sunday with a sizeable toad in the hole riding on my hip (money in my pocket) picked up a nice mixture of titles from Phil Clarke, in no particular order: War Heroes no 1, August 1963. Fightin' Marines no. 55, October 1963. US Air Force no. 36, January 1965. Fightin' Army no. 58, June 1964 and Charlton Premiere vol 2 no. 1 Sept 1967. I have had a soft spot for Charlton comics since the mid 70s when I used to buy all their horror titles featuring art by the likes of Tom Sutton, Pat Boyette, Wayne Howard and of course Steve Ditko. Also got some 60s Mad Magazines nos. 39, 41, 42, 47, 48, 56, 73, 76, 77. Wham 155, Crikey 13, Sparky no 6 and no. 10, Smash 42 and 49, TV Comic 621 (with Fireball and Supercar), Huckleberry Hound Weekly 2/12/1961 and 24/7/65 plus ten Sunday Funnies section from the 1940s and 50s featuring Terry and the Pirates, Dick Tracy, Steve Canyon, Blondie etc. Phil also had the first issue of Sparky at £25 but for some reason I passed it up despite its pretty fair price.

Crikey issues 11 & 13. They had 8, 9 and 10 as well, but I couldn't afford them all today. I'll try to get more next time. 12 must've sold well, it was nowhere to be found. Oh well, two I got will do for now. Also got the latest Beano today.

Wow! Steve! I would love to buy that Sparky No 1! If decent condition I would go more than £25.

4 More UJ's yesterday, including two from the 30's i've already got!
Also issue 1 of Vworp Vworp! It looks very good and the comic strips are great (it's mostly a magazine mind you... but it has more comic than Doctor Who Magazine)

Still early in the car boot season here in the North East, but picked up the Fleetway facsimilie of the first issue of The Magnet Library from 1965. Not bad for 50p!

Another Nelson Lee library with part of a Sexton Blake serial in, the seller is on first name terms with me now!
Once i get a complete serial i might get them bound, they're quite small so it'll make a nice Sexton Blake book with some complete Nelson Lee stories as a "bonus", which takes up 85% of the pages.

Have you checked Ken's Paper Collectables? This is in his British Comics listing:
Nelson Lee Library 1920s 200 Issues £2.00 Each
I don't know how to put a link here but if you just google Ken's Paper Collectables it will be the first option.
Just looked again and he has a couple of hundred Sexton Blake Libraries too.
His list may be out of date but he should have some left if not all.

I acquired a Whizzer and Chips Annual 1976 - with the cover where Santa comes out of the chimney to discover Sid, Slippy and Shiner all sleeping peacefully side by side in bed (I thought they were bitter rivals!) and Slippy has an incredibly long comedy sock pegged up for presents.
Adventure stories are The Menace of the Snailmen, an eight parter in which an army of snailmen emerge from a cave and take over a town, chewing up everybody's hedges and groceries: "At the moment the snailmen are only after vegetables but should we harm them THEY COULD TURN ON US!" - an 8 pager - and an 8 page Archie's Angels (though not by Ron Turner).
Perhaps most interesting is the 4 page Scarey Fairy Tale, "written and drawn by Leo Baxendale", maybe done a year or more earlier and probably a prototype for the Badtime Bedtime Books that filled the centre pages of Monster Fun from June 1975.
