I won 80 issues of Mad magazine on ebay last week - 70s and 80s issues, £50 the lot. I have a soft spot for Mad. I lose interest later on in the 90s when most of the original artists had departed - either from the magazine or from this mortal coil. Usually the latter.

That German fighter panel looks to be an Ian Kennedy original.

That looks great. Any particularly thrilling surprises in the contents?

Lion & Thunder is a underatted comic-I for one think it I.P.C's best effort of the early 1970s!

These 2 strips I'm not familiar with they may have been in Lion from the 50's or 60's,
Morg of the Mammoths is 25 Pages worth from the 96 in it.

Well, according to this site's Lion page, Silver Colt started in the weekly in 1964, so I expect that one's a reprint from around that period.

Morg of the Mammoths looks great. Phil Rushton has mentioned this one before; also a reprint from the Lion weekly.

Does Flame o' the Forest appear in any of these specials?

I picked up a 1969 (15/2/69) copy of Buster & Giggle for £1 in a 2nd hand book shop in Glasgow (the only comic there a nice and unexpected find) plus I got a few US comics (DC = House of Mystery 214, Ghost Rider 12, and Shadow 5 - Marvel = What If 4) most with Frank Robbins art (all except House of Mystery) which is great for me as I love his stuff (all comics around £2.20 each except Shadow £4) - I also picked up 3 packs of 5 comics each (15 comics wow) from A1 comics in Glasgow (all US) for £3 (£1 each and theyre still not selling that well!!) some rubbish but most realy good and included a Paul Gulacy Wolverine comic and a Mike Deodata Avengers comic so well worth it).

I seem to have got addicted to ebay again this week - must watch out for that.

As well as the Whoopee 1 I managed to find three later Cowboy Adventure Library's from the ealy 80's, a few 70's Ka-Zar's from Marvel and a small collections of Whoopee's from 1982.
