Today at Erroll car boot sale, I reckon I hit the jackpot!

90 annuals and 70 comics for £40.00! ( I didn't even haggle - I just asked how much for them all!)

I would imagine the highlights of the annuals would be the 1960 topper, 1965 dandy and 1963 beano and 1966 Dennis the menace!

The comics were mainly just dandy from 88-94 (have a lot of those ones already), but there was a nice whoopee! Summer special from 1989 and dandy summer special from 1988.

Extremely happy the day! :)

As an aside, and maybe everyone knows this, but the kids charity bookshop in Errol receives discontinued /remnants of DC Thomson stuff all the time.

Yesterday I picked up 8 commando books for 25p each ( they still had hundreds of them - but only the 8 different ones.) they also have all the 2022 annuals at a pound, and loads and loads of back issue of the beano from £1 to £2.

Aside from that, it's a lovely bookshop staffed by really nice folk.

That looks like a really good deal. And a big variety of different annuals.

Your lucky to still have boot sales still going in my area these stopped almost 2 months ago and will not start up again until Easter and that’s only if it’s good weather.

Half of Errol is indoors (disused airfield with large hangers). The open air part had about 3 car boots today (pouring rain)

I started indexing those picture libraries onto the grand comics database and used the voice recorder function on my tablet to enter the first line of the story. But "giants of battle" was printed as "jars of basil". Not quite the same thing. Voice recorder obviously has a problem with south London accents. I wonder how it copes with Glaswegians?

If anyone is looking for a cheap read check out Poundland as some of the stores are selling the Eaglemoss DC & Batman graphic novel part works for £3 each, I know it’s not a UK comic but we all like a bargain and as each issue was about £12 each it’s a cheap read for the long cold winter months , I’m missing the hot summer sitting in the shade with a Diet Coke and a victor comic

Yeah it's surprising what's out there in the most unexpected places. And I too miss the heady summer nights sipping a cool beer in the garden only to come back down to earth with a bang knowing what a brass monkey feels like freezing his proverbials off.

Yesterday I received the following 1960's Buster comics:

3rd February 1968
10th February 1968
17th February 1968
9th March 1968

5th April 1969
11th October 1969

All nice clean vibrant covers, I particularly like the 'Buster and Giggle' logos
