So it sounds like it is the last Dandy Summer special I wish that this wasn't true...and that is the feeling a lot of us have..
hopefully a Dandy reprints from the comic could come out next year...But it does sound very final...
I'm sorry Digi if what I'd said has got out of hand...and sorry DC Thomson on behalf of everyone here...we just sad to see the end of The Dandy and we were just clutching at straws that it could come back some way..But we were wrong..
so lets enjoy the last ever Dandy summer special ever...

You have nothing to apologize for, Peter!

No I haven't. What I do appear to have done though is to focus on the wrong section of what you said, so I apologise for that.

Unfortunately, you have read my post literally and, as a consequence, completely missed the irony. Perhaps a smilie or two might have been helpful, but I prefer to let words speak for themselves.
As it is, I'm really looking forward to the holiday break I'm taking tomorrow morning. I'm obviously in need of it. Perhaps I'm overtired but I seem to see people that are there one minute and then the next their body has been taken over by a doppelganger. Could forum members please look into the matter while I'm away, as I'm very concerned about the fate of our colleague MMi.

Whether this new
Dandy Summer Special is the last one ever or not, I am just glad that DCT is producing a new one.
I have also withdrawn my bid in e-Bay. Previously I had thought it was an old special I was unaware of so thank you gentlemen for the heads up.

And there he is, as if nothing has happened.

That's the definition of misquote. Thanks for the apology, tho.

I would have been first with the Andy Murray news if I hadn't had to wait for my laptop to download 18 windows updates. I just heard it on Five Live at about 11.10pm. Expect it to be in the press tomorrow.
Obviously Andy will be in the 75th Birthday issue of the comic as opposed to the Anniversary Special which is already printed. May be confusing to non comic fans.

No, it certainly isn't. In the section of the post we are referring to, I quoted your words correctly and in full. What I do accept is that I misread them or misinterpreted them. It is only possible to misquote somebody if you alter in any way the actual words used in the quotation. I'm going to bed now. I've got to be up at six. I'll read any further posts next Monday night, or Tuesday.

Okay. Enough's enough. Everyone has said their piece.
Let's not go to the dark side of forum dialogue please and let's keep talking about the Beano 75 years issue on this thread.
Thank you,
Al

I was hoping that changing the subject back on topic (which Peter did) would put an end to the matter. I could see where the discussion was heading and didn't want to put myself in any deeper. Apologies if anyone was offended, now can we move on please, like Al said above?

Minnie playing Andy Murray was mentioned on BBC Breakfast this morning..
So Andy wanting to recreate the Billie Jean King playing a man and in that case Billie winning has what has inspired the story..
Andy wanted to play the Serena Williams..

Hmmmmmm.....
Well, I sniped in at the last minute on those two specials on eBay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-beano-75t ... 2c7093797e
I paid straight away then received this from the seller:
"hello really sorry tried ending this item but as there was less than 12hours it wouldnt let.me....this iten is not allowed to be sold found out this morning at 10am...real sorry
- superstar*princess"
I wrote back saying I wouldn't mind if they just happened to post it out, and then this came back....
"i didnt know it hadnt beeb released in the shops the police collected them this morning...soo sorry about this i genuinely didnt know
- superstar*princess"
(Typo's not mine)
Eh? And again, eh?

Only the police? Well, I hope they got the water cannons out to deal with this one, but I'd have expected at least the army and air force to be brought in to handle it as well.
