SHOWCASE TV (Sky Channel 181)
Showcase TV, the UK's first TV channel allowing members of the public to send their message or air their talents to the nation. Broadcast 100% Guaranteed
We want to see your crazy tricks and talents, your personal or even political message to the nation, your jokes and jackass comedy on Showcase TV (Sky Channel 181).
Operated by UK-based media company Classic Media Group based at Shepperton Film Studios, the Showcase TV programme launches February 12th on digital Sky Channel 181. Showcase TV will rely entirely on members of the public for its programming content, you are guaranteed to be on air for the small sum of ?100 plus VAT for 60 Seconds and you can buy as much airtime as you want as frequently as you want. The show runs twice weekly on a Monday and a Wednesday at 10.00pm. You could even have your own regular 5 minute slot.
Unlike similar internet sites where you have to create the visuals yourselves on poor quality mobile phones or cameras, on Showcase TV you will be recorded in a Multi-Camera TV studio at full broadcast quality - your recording will be broadcast full-screen on national TV!
You will experience a real TV recording studio, you will record on T Stage at Shepperton Film Studios, the home of such classics as Harry Potter, The Da Vinci Code, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and you can broadcast to the world any original idea you have!
Aspiring actors, up-and-coming comedians, wannabe models and unsigned bands/singers with original material or in fact anyone will be able to showcase their talents or message and launch their careers on national TV.
You never know this could be the start of a new career, or just a bit of fun, your 5 minutes of fame!
You can send a message to a loved one, a teacher, parent, pet or even the Prime Minister ? get your thoughts heard! This could also be a 'Red Letter Day Experience' for somebody as a gift.
From February 12th all members of the public who appear on the channel will have their 60 seconds available to view online. (The website launch will be announced very soon).
The public will be able to vote for their favourite clips of past performers and they will be invited back to enjoy additional airtime for FREE!!!
Showcase TV is dedicated to giving the consumer the choice of being on TV, there is no need to audition for Simon Cowell, be interrogated by Alan Sugar, you don?t need to be a celebrity, you just need ?100.00 and you are guaranteed your 60 seconds of fame!
In addition you can also take away the recorded piece on DVD to promote yourself on You Tube or My Space, or to send in for auditions etc. An ideal low-cost showreel plus the benefit of having broadcast to the nation on Showcase TV.

Curlytot,
Think you've TOTALLY got the wrong end of the stick re: this website...!!!
This is a website for comics as in 'The Beano' as opposed to comics as in 'Jimmy Tarbuck'!!
Good luck with the venture anyhow!!

LOL! Funniest thing I've read all day!
Mind you, it'd be a cheap way to advertise a new comic. If anyone will be watching that is.

I was going to delete this as complete tosh, but it appeals to me. I can just imagine Paul Scott going on and saying Buy Omnivistascope! or Garen giving a brief resume on Rainbow Orchid or the best would be Kev Sutherland doing his madcap routine about comics which would look like a cross between Magnus Pike and Pat Mills on Prozac!
Go on Kev, we all know you would be the perfect TV face for comics!

I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

Why not use it to promote this website, and the possible return of all our old comics.

?The start of a new career or just a bit of fun. Your 5 minutes of fame!? My arithmetic was never any good, but I calculate that 5 minutes of fun would cost me ?500! Still, if you?ve got money to burn, go for it. As for launching a new career...could you do it in 60 seconds? Or would it take longer? At those rates, how much would an X-Factor winner have had to fork out? For stand-up comedians, there?s a cheaper way. Just go to a venue like the Comedy Store. Finally, there?s the suggestion you could send a message to Tony Blair. Still, that would work out as the cheapest option. I mean, how much would it cost you to say the word, boll*cks?
