I know there were a number of companies that released Masters of the Universe comics throughout the 80s. DC comics released a series which I just won on Ebay. I also have all but 2 of the Marvel/Star comics, & I heard that Masters Of The Universe Weekly was a UK comic, along with She-Ra weekly for a while there.
Does anyone have any details on these?

The comics were published by London Editions which was the comics division of Egmont Uk. The company was based in Manchester at the time in a building which overlooked Strangeways prison and the Boddingtons brewery. Egmont have moved away, the brewery has closed but the prison is still there.
London editions published various licensed titles including Disney, Sooty, Danger Mouse and the comic that gave me one of my first professional comic Jobs - Count Duckula.

I got (and still have) the first issues of both.
They were ok. Nothing great.
MOTU ran for quite a number of issues.
Earl.

And, Toontastic brought out a Masters of the Universe comic recently. I don't think it's published any more, but you can still find copies of it lurking in those bumper bargain comic packs they sell in Smiths.
I was a reader of the Count Duckula comic as a kid. I remember there being a back-up strip in there about a young wizard in training, which I enjoyed. Can anyone shed any light on this one?
Best,
Chris

I'm not entirely sure as I never read the comic, but it was probably "Alias the Jester", another Cosgrove Hall series. I'm willing to be corrected, though.

I won issues 1 & 2 off Ebay shortly after writing this. Yeah, they're OK... nothing special I guess, but I'm a fan
I grew up on Masters of the Universe...

I was just growing out of 'kid's telly when MOTU started. I watched a few but I would have been about 13 or so when it came out.
