Did Twizzle, or Torchy the battery boy, star in any comics?

Hey There,Jellybelly, Nope,can't find any references to these characters in British comics. HOWEVER,its possible they appeared under a different name [as per Asterix,etc]. If you can scan an illo of character it might help track the info down. Regards, Terry

Hi as far as I can remember they were never in comics. They were both on ITV as childrens programmes, in the early sixties. I can remember Twizzle being around a bit later than Torchy. Boy what memories you gave me reading those names again.

Twizzle may not have appeared in any comic but my cousin had a Twizzle book, the format was text stories and illustration.

I distinctly remember as a boy, Twizzle appearing in a comic and indeed I was unaware for many years that he appeared in any other format. I looked out for it at a friend's house but did not take it as a regular order myself. Unfortunately it would be 45 years ago and I can't recall exactly which comic clearly. It might have been Robin or Playhour perhaps. However I am certain he was in a comic. As for Torchy, I saw him on the TV but I am sure he did appear in a comic as well. Again my recollection is there but is vague as to which one.

Torchy appeared in "Harold Hare's Own Paper" during the sixties.

Twizzle appeared in 'TV Land' from issue 1. Full guides to both the 'Twizzle' and 'Torchy' strips will appear in the 'Gerry Anderson Complete Comic History' website, going live later in the year,
