I had had a few issues as the came out in the 70's. My sister collected it in the 80's so I have a good run of these.

Oddly enough it was drawn by Arthur Ranson who's much better known for the ultra-realistic style in which he illustrated Sapphire and Steel for the same publication. Both strips were written by Angus Allan incidentally (along with almost everything else in Look-in!).

Yeah, that's my era too, so I'm quite looking forward to the 80s book (and I will pick up the 70s one too at some point). I think there was a Cannon & Ball strip too IIRC.

What would be in Look-In these days had it continued? Primeval? Harry Hill? My Parents are Aliens? Emu? Cripes, I'd probably buy that...!

That 'Madness' episode was in one of the few Look Ins I ever bought (early eighties). Seeing it again I notice it's by Harry North who I mentioned in the Mad magazine thread. He did spoofs for Mad with lots of (slight) caricatures like this.

I only have two issues of Look-in in my collection..
with the brilliant two websites on Look-in....

I desire to buy some more......
the telly of the past and the features on programs which are hardly remembered now...with a lot of those programs not recorded or saved..they give a good insight to the program..

Saturday Banana with Bill Oddie only the title sequence and a small bit at the end was saved..
Harry Worth nothing was saved except the titles..
Tiswas not a lot saved etc..

maybe Look-in is are only insight to these programs before they disapear for ever..

TV Tops was originally simply called Tops, if that helps your search on eBay. Only had the first issue. Adam Ant on the cover. Very much a Look-In clone. OK if you're into Eighties pop culture I suppose.

Lew, did issue one of Tops have a free Adam Ant skull and crossbones badge with it? If it did, I had that issue too! Was this the comic with a Hi-de-hi strip?

I'm into eighties culture..

Lew when you have time can you do a bit more detail into Countdown and Tv action like you did with your memories on Look-in...love to see the strips inside and your thoughts..just a future idea..
