Hi Guys,

Those who know me will know that Im studying the appeal of comics at university (and getting away with it!)

As part of the study I have had the chance to devote some time in creating a comic (something that has been on my to-do list for years)

I have submitted the first three pages of my 11 page comic here so I can get some feedback from you guys who know comics inside out and because some of you were lovely enough to help me out with my survey earlier in the year.

The speech bubbles need putting on but theres only speech in the first two panels and at the very end of the story (thats not online) something like this

Ted: YAWN! Todays the final day of University, all I have to do is hand in my essay by noon!

Ted: GOSH! I only have ten minutes to get to University and hand my essay in!

You get the idea! I would appriciate any feedback from you guys and maybe some suggestions as to how to persue a comic career if you think the works good enough?

Very nice work! Reminds me of Alex Paterson's stuff from Viz, - and that's not a bad thing. I can't really give you any more feedback as it looks very professional work. Good luck!

Nice lively work - there's a real energy to it!

I like it. A good humour style that can easily be recognised.

What/who did you use to print it out and what colouring materials?

good work: fun to look at, and easy to 'read': if this is but an early attempt, Steve: just keep going! My very early comic attempts weren't as polished as these efforts; this work is from a 'natural'.

One thing I learnt is to keep the expressions different on each panel..

You mean Alex Collier! Hes been helping me with the format and how to colour to Viz standards as hes on the same course as me at Uni. I found Alex Patterson though he does Rex for Toxic I think, or did.

Hi David I have not got it printed yet, although I'm looking at printing a few out for friends lecturers and potential clients perhaps, wouldn't know were to start when it comes to publishing, Im based in Barnsley/Sunderland so its down to the local printers I think gonna cost a few hundred pounds I think.

Cheers for the advice Peter, thats a great tip! Perhaps me using the grim reaper as a character limits his facial expressions, he changes it twice which keeps him scary and I put him in drag near the end which just adds smudgy lipstick to his evil grin
