I saw this advert in yesterday's paper and went into Boots this evening to purchase them. But alas none to be seen. I hate it when shops advertise something and don't stock them. They are Beano-Dandy 70 years of fun playing cards. Are they available elsewhere?

I'm sure I've seen these in the Manchester Arndale Boots store. They also had a range of other Beano Dandy stuff, including pens, but I've forgotten what the other stuff was. My sister was lookin at them and said "Why don't you buy them?" as she knows I like comics.

The current Boots range includes socks, mugs, pen and pencil set, cufflinks, barbecue apron and mousemat and mouse. The illustrations are all in the 1980s style but are newly created for this project. The mugs are huge!

Haven't seen these either (not that I would want them myslef but I usually clock these things) - I did see a few Denis the Meanace items in British Home Stores (BHS) and in Debenhams - could nt make out what they were (think Debs had a Gnasher and Denish figure that had some use ) I ve seen Dandy and Beano character based Mugs in various shops though in Glasgow (and surrounding area)

As unlikely as it may seem, a clothing store is selling Beano and Dandy merchandise (though not the Boots range)! Peacocks is selling a Desperate Dan mug at 6pound and Gnasher bottle openers at 3pound I think, plus omsething else I can't remember.

I saw this lot in my local Boots. I was tempted to pick up the cards, but the grammar/spelling obsessive in me recoiled at the references on the back of the packet to "Mini the Minx" and "Bananman". Epic fail, packaging guys...

my sister bought me the Beano mug for Christmas

I have the two mugs. The Desperate Dan one is more than 2 times the size of a normal mug!
