Help identify the following artists, please.

Hi Folks, two more artists to id., this time from The Warlord from June 1976. Both annoyingly familiar:

The first is The Ghost Fighter. I think, from the style and the faces of the figures, this is John Ridgway art. He had certainly been working on and off for D.C.T. for several years by then.

The second is Killer Kane. This is the one that's familiar to me from 2000ADs of the time, but as I have none handy I can't make the comparison. Any suggestions?

Hope you guys can help with this. It is always appreciated.

Although I can't help with names, the art isn't John Ridgway. I seem to remember that he was in engineering or something and only did comics as a side-line until the early 80's when he went professional.

As for the above piece, I still think it could be him as it is only a three page long episode. So that fits in with the idea of him only doing work on the side. I think the run itself couldn't have lasted more than 10 episodes. It might have had multiple artists. I picked this one to post as it looked familiar.

It's kinda scary, for me, to read he'll be 70 next birthday. Feels like he's only been around since the eighties.

DT, I understand what you mean about John Ridgway seeming to be a newcomer to the scene as his work only seemed to explode on the scene in the late 70's/80's.

I must admit that I can't mentally log those images in the first post as being his work. But they do look very similiar to the work done by the artist on Spider Wells.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Crow and Coolcol - your example really doesn't look like John Ridgway to me either. Kashgar is probably your best bet for identifying the two artists in question.

Really? Ghost Fighter looks exactly like John Ridgway's work to me, in the tighter style he was using back then. He was freelancing occasionally for Thomsons around that time on Commando, so it's possible he could have contributed to Warlord in 1976.

I'm afraid I was wrong, sorry. Doing what I should have done from the start, I asked John Ridgway himself, and he said he's never drawn anything for a Thomson weekly.

I should have checked some of the following issues before posting the Ghost Fighter page. The following page, from feature The Loner, comes from the 24/7/1976 issue . I think it's the same artist. Steve Holland lists him as Rezzonico. There's very little info available on the net about him. Lambiek and Wiki don't list him. All googling turned up was the fact he'd done some Charlton work in the late sixties. Does anyone else find enough similarities between the two pages to go with Rezzonico for Ghost Fighter?

Not one suggestion. It's not very helpful that Killer Kane is also the name of the main villain from the Buck Rogers franchise. Googling it also brings up books, a band, and somebody called Arthur "Killer" Kane, all irrelevant. Looks like this one's even harder to identify than Ghost Fighter.
