Ern Shaw

I don't know if anyone's familiar with Ern Shaw, a Hull born artist who drew rugby league cartoons, but here's an article from Tuesday's Hull Daily Mail about him.


I must apologise for the varied contrast, my scanner's past its best.
Unfortunately, the Hull Daily Mail website doesn't include Flashback - must be to make sure people buy the paper I suppose.

I have a small hardback book with dust wrapper written and drawn by Ern Shaw - How to be a Cartoonist (or something) picked it up decades ago and it must be from the 50s or 60s. Not Shaw where it is at the moment but i keep coming across it during the occasional root about in my collection.
