That's his second strip released this way! More please Beano! Dave's misremembering when it debuted though - appeared in 1961? No, it was 1960.

Nice piece. I thought it was interesting that he preferred drawing the kids to Dennis (I say preferred because he doesn't draw Dennis anymore, though he does still draw Bash Street of course).

It's also worth mentioning that in this week's Beano, Dave has now moved up to outright no. 1 for the number of sets drawn for a single strip - 2001 of his Bash Street Kids have appeared in the Beano, edging him ahead of Jim Petrie's record of 2000 sets for Minnie the Minx. Ironically enough, Petrie set the record in the year 2001!
