Today's Weekly News has a thoughtful tribute to Bill Ritchie with a selection of cartoons. As usual it is a large image and I have had to scan it in two parts.

Doesn't that word retiral look peculiar to us Sassenachs?

And the comma after it is unnecessary?

"Smiffy and Baby Crockett in Beezer and Dandy"... both are from Beezer, and he hardly did anything for Dandy, they should've mentioned Sparky instead.

Totally unnecessary.

Bill's cartoons are still appearing, he must have built up a fair inventory.

That's assuming it isn't a reprint...

I've been reading the Weekly News since the early 70s and Bill only started submitting Gag cartoons a few years ago. I think I'd remember any that were repeated.

Today's Weekly News has a nice Bill Ritchie cartoon which I found rather poignant - I wonder what he was thinking when he came up with it.
