Set in London Batman teams up with Super Girl to beat Scientist Luthor who has created a monster to steel the crown Jewels. It looks like it's going to be one complete story a month,
as Batman will be teaming up with heroes Blue Beetle, Plastic Man and Green Arrow in future issues.

Over all it's not to bad for a TV Tie in.Story was OK art is good.

Yeah, got that for my 9 and 6-year olds yesterday.
Its good in that its aimed squarely at their level - and i'd been looking for something to introduce them to the DC Universe.
Best thing, for me at least, is the old school cut out Batman mask on the back cover.

I may pick this up. I hadn't realised it was UK originated (I take it that's the case, from the location?).

It's not. It's American strip repackaged by Titan into a UK title, same as their Simpsons or Superman Legends comics.

It's just pure luck that there happened to be a UK set story to put in the first issue.

Speaking of American superheroes in the UK, part of the movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer takes place in London - specifically they have to stop the London Eye collapsing after the Surfer causes it to come off it's frame. Just watched it on a newly purchased DVD.

Just as Doc Doom is about to finally despatch Reed and Sue along come a small firm of Millwall fans and kick the kak out of him.

I have to admit that I've never been a fan of most superheroes, like spiderman and batman.

Friendly advice: don't bump up months old threads when you have no interest in the subject being discussed.

I wasn't aware there was a UK version of this comic out, no doubt hidden behind it's own (and other) free gifts. I bought the first 2 issues of the US comic, liked the Dick Sprang inspired art and the use of lesser character in the comic and cartoon (makes a change from Superman and Wonder Woman etc every month plus I have a soft spot for Plastic Man). Not keen on the cartoon version of Aquaman (he's an idiot in the cartoon). Def for kids (well they all are but you know what I mean) but I really miss the "Batman the animated series" type cartoons and the comic (it was one of my few regular monthy DC purchases month in month out) especially Brice Timms versions - thankfully I hear this current cartoon (and comic no doubt) version will only run 2 /3 season and be replaced by a new more serious version - I always thoughthe DC / Warner cartoon version of the Teen Titans (in anime style) and the Legion of Super Heroes cartoon would sell well in comic form with todays kids (the cartoons, especially Titans were really good) but I don't recal ever seeing them on the UK racks (the LSH US kids comic didn't do that well although Teen Titans kids version was pretty popular)
