FREE! The "SPARKY FILE - 1965 -1977" To any & all!

Post by alanultron5 »

Yes folks! It's free! My completed `Sparky-File` which is a complete (i hope!) log of the history of `Sparky` comic 1965 to 1977. 123 pages of text (sorry! No photo's) on microsoft word!

Everything you wanted to know about `Sparky` comic but were afraid to ask! A year by year account of the comics `Fun & Adventure` strips! Free gifts & Overhauls! `Sparky Book` contents-and more! There are four appendix` with issue breakdowns when strips commenced and ended!

One part might not please people too much - I have put some of my opinions on content of `Sparky` on the `work` Hopefully-they won't upset anyone too much-definately `NO` four letter stuff etc! So don't worry there! I am a bit `opinionated` though-I do admit!

Anyone wanting a free attatchment to a E.Mail reply, please contact me at purple70883@yahoo.co.uk and i'll send a copy! Cheers!

Wow, I thought Kashgar was the only one who did that kind of thing (albeit in print rather than electronically). :)

Hi alanultron5, could you not just upload the file to Mediafire or some other file sharing server and post the link here?

regards,

The Cap.

The Captain has a good point. Uploading it once will be quicker than emailing a dozen or more people one at a time.

It would certainly be interesting to see a copy of your 'Sparky File' Al and compare notes. And, if you wouldn't see it as in any way stealing your thunder, maybe I could add a few names of artists here and there.

Afraid I'm an utter novice re Pcs and their functions! I don't know anything about File Sharing or Media file or how to do any of that! I tried Copying & pasting it onto this thread but it was too big! I can send Kashgar a copy by E.Mail attatchment and maybe he can somehow get it on here!

What I could do on this thread is place my `File` Piecemeal! I could copy & paste it year-by-year; that way it shouldn't break the 6,000 word limit in one go! Of course, the `Appendix' & tables might not transfer to the format properly- we will have to chance it! I will start Monday!

I received a reply from `Comic Uk admin` asking if I could send copy to their E.Mail and they could then put it on the site! It seems to have gone ok! So, hopefully, it will be on the site-somewhere!

It does have some of my `opinions` in it and that is why I intended it to be for individuals rather than public showing! There are no offencive swearing or abuse etc! Just that I have rather criticised certain strips! Anyone who knows my comments on `Sparky` comic-knows I have a bit of a `downer` on the "Invisible Dick" strip!

Before sending a copy to Admin; I have `moderated` some of my words a bit as I don't want too much controversy! Al.

I agree with you there. The strip wasn't invisible enough for me.

Mediafire, Rapidshare, and Megaupload all offer the ability to upload files for others to download, completely free (registration allows you to upload bigger files and avoid advertising). Of course, the majority of content is dubious, such as TV shows and video games (copyright theft and piracy laws broken left right and center with those). But something like your file is what these services are designed for.

However, it won't matter if Al's going to put it on Comics UK anyway.

Alan,

I've sent you a message stating that I haven't received your Email with the Word attachment. My Email includes my GoogleMail account address for you to send it to me.

If that doesn't work, you may have to split the document into smaller chunks before re-sending.

Thank you,

Al
