New Popeye book

Post by wilsia »

A new book featuring the Bud Sagendorf Popeye strips is being published in October and can be ordered on Amazon.

I loved reading the Bud strips in Tv Comic and the polystyle Popeye specials and
for others out there who enjoyed them also it would be worth checking out.

...Of course some of the Popeye strips in TV Comic were drawn by our very own Mike Noble!

Do you have an example of a Popeye Mike Noble?

sounds very unusual for Mike to draw comics..

My memory of Popeye in TV Comic was a home produced strip - it was signed by the artist but i'm wracking my brains trying to think who it was. I think his surname began with G. Have no memory of Mike Noble drawing Popeye - trying to imagine him running towards us at a 30 degree angle with one leg cocked behind him. Just thought of the name - Barry Glennard - he drew Popeye! I have a couple of the TV Comic Popeye Summer Specials and they were a mixture of Sagendorf and Glennard.
