Talk here about just about anything associated with British comics or story papers and the industry that does not fit in any other forum.
There are separate fora open to registered members for discussing specific comics, artists, websites etc.
Not sure I shoud introduce myself here. In any case just to let you know I am a big fan of British Comics, specially girls ones.
I think someone posted a link to my blog somewhere in here yesterday or the day before (in Spanish), and I had been meaning to register since some time ago. I have a big collection of Annuals and some Beano and Dan.
Though I live in Ireland I am the webmaster of the Esther y su Mundo forum (Patty's World) in Spain so any queries about girls comics I can try and help.
Hi Ruth! As I just posted on another thread, I only just joined myself It is really cool to be able to chat to other comics fans in this way! I'm learning a lot, there were a lot of girls' comics that I'd never read before so I'm having the pleasure of discovering things like Misty and Jinty for the first time
Hi ISPYSHHHGUY! Gosh, what a name! so simple to remember!, XDD
I will add my avatar soon enough, I just came back home now from work (I registered from there when I had nothing to do.
tonibunny, I do have all Jinty Annuals, also Princess Tina, Princess, Pink, Girl, and other Annuals all completed, and some Judy, June, Misty, Tammy, etc.
Most of these British comics were printed in Spain too in magazines as Lily, gina, Esther, Pecosa, etc, and many artists were Spanish so i know them well and have many works in both languages.
Patty's World has no secrets for me, I had everything nearly that was printed (is being re-edited in Spain now, volume 13 was just out a few weeks back, Purita Campos is restaurating the pages and also writing The New Adventures of the character, now Patty is thirtysomething, separated and with a 13 year old daughter...
Hey Ruth, my main interest in these comics is the artwork and as you'll have seen, I'm very keen to identify specific artists. If you can help with that at all I'd be very grateful
Hi Peter! I know your blog very well.
The one with the comics at home is me. Except for the odd spiderman belonging to my other half, I have a whole press full of them plus... many shelves. That and dolls are my passion (more the comics, honestly). I have around 400 or so Lilys and around 200 other comics, maybe more... one day I will have to sit down and count them, but I sill don't see the use... XDDD. I have loads!
