Strip from 60s UK comic about a kid with a magic rope. May have been called My Pal Ropey. Was definitely in colour and I think was in one of the large format comics, possibly Topper. Anyone out there recall it, and have any other info?

My pal Ropey was in the Beezer. I don't remember it in the comic, but it was in a few annuals [about 1967-68]. Robert.

My Pal Ropey did indeed appear in the Beezer weekly comic. I have a few issues from 1967 around numbers 578 ish - the strip mostly appears in colour (1 pagers) The boy with the special rope was called Ron Rodgers - "Ropey" itself was part of an indian Fakirs rope who obeys Rons commands. Not sure of the artist or writer - the artist look familuar from other DC Thomsons strips though. Just for info, in the same issues of the Beezer there were strips called Mr Flippy, the excellent Space Patrol, Roly Poly and Wrinkle and Twinkle (2 dogs) - strips I had forgotten about no wonder the Beezer was my fav comic as a wee boy (also had the classics ie Little Mo, Baby Crocket, Bannana Bunch, Ginger, Pop Dick and Harry and more)

My Pal Ropey appeared from the Beezer #457 to #682 and was drawn byAlbert Holroyd, one of the Holroyd brothers who were long time DC Thomson artists. Beezer and Topper were always my favourites.
