Can any kind forum member advise me please on what period Sub (Ken Reid) appeared in Scorcher and Score comic.

Also what was the Ken Reid Strip that followed it.

Hoping someone can help

I got the following information from The Fleetway Companion, volume 2 by Steve Holland:

Sub didn't appear in Scorcher And Score, only in Score.

The following Ken Reid strips appeared in Scorcher And Score, with dates given where known:

Manager Matt

Hugh Fowler

Harry Hammertoe, The Soccer Spook (ended 18/8/73)

Jimmy Jinks (25/4/73 to 17/8/74)

Triptoe Tryers (from 24/8/74)

Wasn't Sub in Scorcher from its beginning? Until it was replaced with Football Forum.

No, David already said it was in Score, not Scorcher.

Sub was in Scorcher (from 10th January 1970 - 8th August 1970) and was replaced by Football Forum on 15th August 1970. It was never in Score.

A lot of info on Ken Reid's football strips is already on the forum, wilsia, if you try the Search engine - we had a thread on some of Reid's more obscure strips a while back.

So the Fleetway Companion was wrong?

Evidently, if that's what it says.

There was no Ken Reid material in Score 'n' Roar (retitled just Score towards its end). The only fun strip it featured and not for long - was Trouble Shooter, drawn by Graham Allen.
