Just done it...she had a nice Scotish accent from Dundee..
Done it by Direct debit so it will carry on and on unless i want it to stop..
The Dandy Quarterly subscription
Price: £17.00 Quantity: 1 £17.00
Delivery to: Billing address £0.00
Total: £17.00
The Beano Quarterly subscription
Price: £17.00 Quantity: 1 £17.00
Delivery to: Billing address £0.00
Total:
So its £17 x2 every quarter
£34
Dandy is £1.99
Beano £1.50 every week..so I must be saving some money

Those prices don't even take into account gift related price increases. Dandy would be £25.87 for 13 issues, and Beano £19.50, unless it too is getting a price increase soon, so even without those increases, yeah, subscribing saves you some money.

Yeah, the numbers aren't the same. Quarterly is £17 (would be £20 at half year rate and £18.75 at annual rate), half-year is £40 (would be £34 at the quarterly rate, £37.50 at annual rate). Annual is £75 according to this week's Beano page 16 (would be £68 at QR and £80 at half year rate). You're best off using direct debit and paying quarterly.

Very much so. I think the direct debit costs less for them to operate as it's continuous rolling subscription, so no renewal reminders.
I believe the call centre is very much in Dundee!

You should get the first sub issue a week before the issue goes on sale in the shops.
So, you should get this around New Years week.

I have been getting my subscription Dandy, for the last year, on the Saturday before it is in the shops. Though since they changed to the thinner paper a few weeks back it has started to arrive later (on the Monday or Tuesday) for some reason and the present issue 3563 did not arrive till last Friday two days after the shops

That's not good... I guess it's being printed later, and could this week's have been held up by last Wednesday's strikes?

Nothing to do with strikes, thinner paper, or late printing. This weeks issue hasn't arrived yet either. It's the fault of whatever courier they're now using. (TNT, according to the envelope.)
On the plus side it's still only £15 for 15 issues, so half the price of shop copies.

TNT can be absolutely atrocious. I got this week's Beano and last week's Dandy on Monday.
Unfortunately, and I believe it causes DCT some frustration too from when I complained last year when the Dandy stayed a week behind for ages, they're relying on TNT dispatching them when they ought.

Maybe its the Christmas post that's causing a backlog - thats why I hold off ebaying at this time of year so my packages don't get lost among the millions of extra parcels.
