Does anyone recall the strip - from Beezer perhaps - a team of scientists who travelled in what seemed to be a large spacecraft that walked on tall spindly legs. I always thought it would be better if it was a flying vehicle. Did the strip appear in the same comic as the Numbskulls? (little control people that lived in different departments in a man's head).

The craft in question was, I think, the Spacewhacker. It was manned by the Silver family and sent to explore the Purple Planet. It had rollers, legs, extensible claws and a cannon, and could travel over land and in water - in fact the only thing it couldn't do was fly. It featured in the Beezer of 1963, which indeed also featured the Numbskulls. Oddly enough, I've just found a reply to my earlier e-mail concerning this very strip (otherwise I couldn't have answered in so much detail!). James Allan
