I am passionate about comics and designer Jean Sidobre.
He drew in England in the magazine "Tina", "Princess Tina" "Annual PrincessTina"...........(others?)...
I research everything about him, everything he did in the English magazines in the 60s.
I'm also a big fan (enthusiast) by Phil Clarke, illustrator "Tina" and "Princess Tina" covers.

I'm going to ask you some questions?
If you know where all the journals Jean Sidobre Drew, help me find them.
In the title "Tina" I am looking for the first number drawn by Jean Sidobre and the latest in "Princess Tina".
(I have a lot of "Princess Tina", 40 or 50, but no "Tina" tittle for story: -My Chum Yum Yum-).
I know -Alona The Wild One- in "Princess", but I did nothing about it....not magazines, just a original page.
Or -Jenny Wrenn the nurse- in "Princess", but I have no informations.
Or -the heir of Roxcliffe- published in 1971 in "Princess Tina", but I have no details, no numbers.
Or -Chico the brave- published in Sept 1968 in ".....X.....", but I have no details.
I still original pages, designed by Jean Sidobre.

You must know that in France, Jean Sidobre is known to have designed "Le Club des Cinq" ("The Famous five") by Enid Blyton, from 1971-1972. Or Alice by Carolyn Keene (Caroline Quine in France) from ....1980.....

Hi jluc, welcome! I also have a collection of "Princess Tina" comics. I am not an expert, of which there are many on here, but I will try and help where I can.

I am not sure if you have the original of this first Alona? So I am scanning it on here for you, it is dated 21st march 1964.

I will scan the first "My chum yum yum" under "Princess Tina" thread in Girls' comic titles as soon as I can.

An artist signing himself 'Sidobre' drew the 'Adventures of Seaspray' strip in 'Solo' comic during 1967. I don't have all the issues scanned, but I think it was the same artist throughout. This is from issue 27.

And here is a scan from issue 22 with a signature.

He also drew 'Sinbad' for Treasure. Here's a signed page from July 5th 1969 (no.338).

Do not forget to write the references of magazines, because I do not know all the Uk Mag collections.
The story "Sinbad" comes from the journal Princess Tina or journal Treasure?
And "Adventures of Seaspray" and also comes from Solo, # 27, I'm not mistaken?

As far as I am aware, 'The Adventures of Seaspray' ran from issues 1 to 30 of 'Solo'. With issue 31, 'Solo' merged with 'TV Tornado' and the strip ended.

Also, you mentioned 'Jenny Wren - Student Nurse' in Princess. Though I can't find any signature, here's an episode from Princess dated March 17 1962 which looks as though it could be Jean's work:

That's Dudley Wynn, surely? Or someone trying to emulate his style...

I agree it looks more like Wynn's style. It'd be interesting to know where Jluc heard about Sidobre's connection with the strip - perhaps he drew it for an annual (as he did with Jane Bond)?
