I have to say Kids Rule was a really guilty pleasure for me. I had never read it before and I found it to be utterly gripping. A sort of working class Lord of the Flies. No wonder Action! was banned. Phew!

Fantastic story! Didn't see it first time around, but completely enthralled by it as a thirty-something! The Action book by Martin Baker is well worth getting hold of to find out how that story actually was going to end up.

The published version was very much a cop-out! (What a pun!) The original version was going to be so much grittier, but I think that from reading the book, it was going to peter out and go out with a fizzle rather than a bang! So much better for us to have the ending left in the air, so that our imaginations could dream up an appropriate ending.
