Hibernia comics (ME!) have just published a Holiday Special style collection from the Eagle.

I hope no one minds me plugging this here, if anyone is interested the link here gives details.

Got this and loved it

What would people put in a (theoretical) volume 2?

So I bought this and yeah it's a good read, though it's all reprint.

My only real grip would be the layout... Why all the wasted space at the bottom of every page? It looks odd. I've have just had it printed at the same size as the original comics, or am I missing something?

sounds like there is a 2nd volume coming (in time for Christmas) so I'm going to suggest...
the other Alan Moore 'Collector' story
Johnny Nobody from 28/02/87
Star Com (3 episodes) from 24/09/88 might also fit the bill

I haven't bought it yet but if there's space at the bottom like people suggest why not put some ernie strips there.

Hey koollectablz, The reason for some space at the bottom of some of the strips it that the stories featured are from all different periods in the Eagles history so they are all different page sizes.
If we were to have everything the same size it might look like the old American 2000AD reprints, slightly stretched. We went with keeping everything at the same proportions and running a banner at the bottom of any strip that needed it to balance the page, admittedly we overlooked the back cover, but it work well and had been incredibly popular.

A second Special is in the works, and as Richard has suggestions above, Id love to hear more.

Cheers!

I really hate it when publishers 'stretch' artwork to fit the page.
