I'm looking forward to faceache hardback and the leopard from lime st.i wonder if all the funny collections will be published in hardback, which i prefer,dues to the serials possibly making more money.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I've heard of no plans to do other humour strips yet. (Although personally, I think Leo Baxendale's Clever Dick would be good.)

I wonder if DCT will be watching to see how they do as i neeed that complete Ken Reid Jonah collection along with numerous others from DCt.
I would love to see Jasper The grasper from Cor also as that sticks out in my memory from childhood for some reason but it could be due to thinking how good the art was even as a kid.who possibly doesnt think about the art in their comics.

Jasper the Grasper originated in Wham!, which is not part of Rebellion's purchase, so no chance unfortunately.

I'm very happy with the list of the books for 2017. No point in wishing what'll come in future years yet IMHO. Let's see how these sell first. Hopefully fans will buy them when they're published and won't wait hoping they'll be remaindered in the pound shop or wherever.

Given that I reprinted the Leopard from Lime Street in Starscape, I'll certainly look forward to that.

I sincerely hope to be proven wrong but it's hard to see a market for these past various 40/50 somethings buying one to regale their kids with.

Who'll look up from their phones for maybe a couple seconds, shrug, then go back tagging pictures of their friends in embaressing photos.

It's weird that for the most part the characters they've chosen to reprint are extremely derivative of stuff that was pretty old hat even when they were first published.

One Eyed Jack being Dirty Harry, Leopard of Lime St being Spider-Man etc. The article called it right on the nose with that.

I hope they got the archive and rights for a complete song if they didn't it has the makings of an almighty white elephant.

All that said, I'll buy a copy of each.

Each of those characters has the potential to work in other media too, so this might be the start of something great.

Sadly most of the artists represented are now gone, but it'd be great if Rebellion could persuade John Stokes to provide something new for the Marney book - even if it's only a short introduction.

It looks like it's shot from the original artwork because you can see the edges of the painting. It's a fantastic piece of art for the cover. I'm so pleased that Marney will be collected at last. I haven't read many episodes but from what I've seen it was John's best work for IPC. He's a vastly underrated comic artist so I hope this book will give him more recognition amongst fans and the public. I consider him easily on par with any artist who's worked in comics.
