Your Favourite Launch Comic Through The Decades

While waiting for my partner's eldest son to visit (it being Mothers Day), I thought I would raise this thread.
What is in your opinion is the best comic to be launched in its respective decade?
Here are my nominations:
1930s:
The Dandy
1940s: I have no preference.
1950s:
Eagle
1960s:
Valiant
1970s:
2000 AD
1980s:
Warrior
1990s:
Judge Dredd Megazine
2000s:
Spaceship Away
2010s:
Strip Magazine
2020s:
Quantum
2030s: Hasn't happened yet.
My Favourite Decade: 1970s though I wish I was able to have experienced the 1960s comics first hand.
Of course they are many contenders and some of my choices were very tight.

Very hard to list as my era for comics was the 1960s the best time to read comics
1950 Eagle 2nd place TV Comic
1960s TV21 tied 2nd place Victor & Super DC
1970s Countdown/TV Action. 2nd place Look in
Honourable mention
Starblazer, smash, Action, Solo, 60s Beano and Big one

1930 Radio Fun
1940 Super Thriller Comics
1950 Young Marvelman (I always preferred Junior to the Captain)
1960 Valiant
1970 Captain Britain (or Star*Lord)
1980 Warrior, but I liked Crisis a lot
1990 Revolver
2000 I'm tempted to say Starscape, but I'll go for Jack Staff
2010 Strip
2020 Not too sure. It will probably be Ragtime Soldier, if it's half as good as it appears
Ultimate winner? I'll go for the first 12 issues of Star*Lord.

I haven't worked out my answers yet.
With the 30s I am torn between The Hotspur and The Dandy.
Now I know volume 1 of The Hotspur was mainly written stories but I do feel that it ultimately inspired Eagle which inspired Lion which inspired Valiant which inspired Warlord which inspired Action which inspired 2000AD.
The Dandy, however, is a classic comic that is probably the most amazing comic ever produced by that time in that century.
I want to go for Hotspur but I'm going with The Dandy.
BTW: If we were talking about American comics in the 30s,both Detective Comics and Action Comics thrash any contenders hands down (in my opinion).

When you mention,for 2000 decade, Starscape,I remain confused.
I love issue one of the story paper and the comic book anthology BUT was STARSCAPE an actual comic at some point and can you please give me more information?
Chris,I love the stuff that I have read that you have created.....Was their actually an ongoing comic/magazine at some point???????

Yeah, it was a bimonthly for the first year, featuring the Deterrent, the Leopard from Lime Street, Guard Dogs, Damage Circus and short stories. So, 6 issues. There was then a CD Xmas Special and the first issue of volume 2 with Quisling, Dead, Ouija and golden age British superheroes. But the artists struggled with the pace and I moved to Africa eventually, so it remained in limbo.

Well due to "Planetfall" I'm aware of the Detterrent, Damage Circus and Guard Dogs.
Were these 6 issues and the Xmas Special actually published and are they still available to purchase Sir?

I can't really go further.
I love the issues of "Spaceships Away" that I have got from Ebay and "Starscape" is fantastic from what little I have of it.
But ...Truth is I mainly buy old stuff these days.
Favourite decade is the seventies and I love so many UK publications from that decade.

A really good question Sid.
As a monthly it may well have reached an older market and not been competing with 2000AD and therefore IPC may have not needed to cancel one of the titles.

They had to develop new stories after the 12 issues, so the quality noticeably dropped. A more adult audience just wasn't a thing in British comics then, so I can see why. That said, I could see it ushering a new era of monthly comics had they kept their nerve.
Planet of the Damned was my favourite,veith Mind Wars having some great concepts. It still amuses me that Hammerstein is regarded as this tough war hero, whilst I still think of him as the puffed-up straight man to Ro-Jaws (how did 2000AD let him fade into obscurity?).
