I'm trying to compile a list of all DC Thomson annuals released (in the boys humour comic category), can anyone see any omissions in my list?

Continuing Annuals:

-Dandy: 1939-2007+
-Beano: 1940-2007+
-The Broons: 1940, 1942, 1948-2006+ (even years only)
-Oor Wullie: 1941, 1943, 1949-2007+ (odd years only)
-Dennis The Menace: 1956-1978 (even years), 1983, 1985, 1987-2007+
-Bash Street Kids: 1980-1986 (even years), 1989-2007+
-Dandy & Beano: 1988, 1990-2007+
-Broons & Oor Wullie: 1997-2007+


Past Annuals:

-Black Bob: 1950, 1951-1961 (odd years), 1965
-Topper: 1955-1994
-Desperate Dan: 1955, 1979, 1991-1993
-Beezer: 1958-2003
-Beryl The Peril: 1959-1977 (odd years), 1981, 1987, 1988

I'm assuming the Bananaman annuals (1984-1987) were not published by DC Thomson, can anyone confirm this?

The Bananaman annuals were indeed published by DC Thomson (being the proud owner of one of them!)

Boys humour/adventure? Missing loads, Hotspur, Victor, Adventure, etc, etc...

I mean comics that are humour/adventure in one comic, like dandy etc, as opposed to entirely adventure. Sorry, I didn't make that very clear, I should've just said humour. *edits post again*

The first Bananaman Annual was definitely published by D C Thomson, so I assume the others were too. (Bear in mind he was a comics character, in Nutty, before he made it to the small screen.)

Off hand Cheeky and Cor spring to mind,though I don't know what years.Better still have a look at the Annuals listed on this site..there's more here than just the forum!

Thanks for the tips, I believe Cheeky and Cor are Fleetway/IPC though??

Anyway, I've already used the site's annuals section in compiling my list, and I think my list is complete, but there's the possibility that I've ignored a title listed on the site because I didn't realise it was DC Thomson (the site's list generally doesn't cite publishers) or that there are books that the site fails to list (I get the impression the annuals section is still a work in progress), so I'm just double checking I haven't missed anything out.

Regarding Bananman, I'm aware he was a DCT character before being on TV, but I thought that if his annuals were more a spinoff from the TV incarnation than from the original comics then they might have been done by a different company. So thanks Lew and Spencer for clearing up that they weren't. One thing that confused me though is that the 1984 Bananaman annual (not mentioned on this site's annuals list but I've seen it on several ebay auctions and on this site: http://www.tonystrading.co.uk/galleries ... anaman.htm) appears to have the St Michael brand logo on the front. Is this a DCT job released under that brandname for some reason, or is this book not one of the proper annuals? (maybe it's a large format storybook or something? It does lack the word annual or a year on the front...)

I've never seen that before! Can't help you there I'm afraid. Perhaps some lurking DC Thomson editor can shed light on it.

Ah, there's one I missed, The Magic Fun Book, 1941-1942, before it got incorporated into the Beano book...

I know this is a very old thread, but I didnt want to create a new one.

I've been looking at DC Thomson Annuals myself in particular Bananaman.

Just looking at a Bananaman Annual 1984 for sale on eBay and it doesnt look like a DC Thomson one (the rest are). The selling even has a picture of the legal information which says it was published in 1984 exclusively for Marks and Spencer. And was illustrated by Peter Campbell (not John Geering). It looks like a standard boook with illustrations not a comic. If the publish information says 1984 then I think the annual came out the same year as DC Thomson's Bananaman 1985 annual. The year on the front is usually the year after publication.

I think another annual might have been missed here too. They printed a Morgyn the Mighty book once in the 1950s. He was a Beano character, but not sure if that counts as an annual for a humour comic.

The Morgyn the Mighty book is the size of a novel and has text stories in it (no strip cartoons) - so I'm not sure I'd class it as an annual

The Marks and Spencer book was put together from adaptations of the animated Bananaman show episodes, and therefore may be screencaps.
