Re: Beano expansion

This coming Saturday's Daily Mail Weekend magazine has an interesting cover. Who's the artist?

Re: British comics reprinted in Europe

Perhaps it's a Kelpie strip from an annual as the regular artists often didn't draw the annual versions of strips.

Re: Comics on TV

One of my guilty pleasures is watching Wheel of Fortune on Challenge TV. This morning the bloke who presents the prizes was sitting in an armchair reading the Beano. A 1988 episode.

Re: Talking Pictures TV

I enjoyed last night's final Hazell. Not only was it filmed here in Rotherhithe but Hazell bought his mate, hiding out from the police, some jellied eels and double pie and mash. Hazell hired a car and I recognised the car mart as the one just a few yards up the road from me.

Talking Pictures TV

I assume we are all nostalgia buffs so here is some news from the TV channel: We’re also getting ready for the first Saturday Morning Pictures on 6th February. We’ve got the carpet sweeper out in the stalls and the usherette has been stocking up on Lyons Maid. Get your badges on and form an orderly ...

Just checked and there is a listen again option. If you choose the 3.30 to 4.00am section it's about ten minutes in.

Re: Champ Comic 1984-85 'We Are United'

I woke up at about 4am this morning to hear Barrie Tomlinson being interviewed by Paul Ross on his talk radio/talksport show (1am to 5am). Yes I have my clock radio on all night. I awoke halfway through but I think he said he is writing his autobiography. It's probably available on catch-up somewhere.

Beano expansion

Today and yesterday the Daily Star has had interviews with the Beano editor. He mentioned wanting the Beano empire to become bigger than Disney. Also hinted at more Beanold adult sections, maybe each Christmas. Here's the links: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/beano-comics-boss-vows-tak...

Looking at today's front pages I see Stan is back and working for the Mail on Sunday. I don't buy a Sunday paper so won't see his new cartoons.

Re: Please help me identify a mystery Doctor Who artist

As it was in a Holiday Special it might have been submitted by an amatuer and deemed not good enough for the comic, specials and annuals frequently used non-regular artists on strips. It's quite well drawn so I could be wrong. Maybe a commercial artist making some extra money? The lettering isn't th...

Planned to get my hair cut next week. That's been kyboshified. Looks like another period of looking like a seventies prog rock star.

Back on topic my one complaint is the reduced size of the strips. Eyestrainsville Arizona.

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

If you could provide the contents for each of them here I can compare them with the ones I have already indexed on GCD. I've already noted three different contents for Action Double Double no.1. I only need the title and number not the stories.

Thanks in anticipation.
