Its been 10 years

Its been 10 years now since the final print edition of the Dandy. That decade flew by. Whats everyone's favourite memories of the Dandy? I started reading the Dandy as a kid in the early 2000s. Mostly via specials, annuals and only a couple of actual comics. I really wished I read it more. I used to...

That looks like a really good deal. And a big variety of different annuals.

Re: Question from from US(EastCoast)

The Black Sapper was a real long runner. It first appeared as a text story in the Rover in 1929. 30 years later (1959) it appeared in the Beezer as an adventure strip (according to the excellent Book of the Beezer). If its in the Hotspur in 1972, thats over 40 years! It must be one of the longest ru...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I bought a copy of Dc Thomsons firsts from ebay (off seller phil-comics aka Phil Shrimpton) It reprints the first issues of the Beano, Dandy, Magic and the Big Five story papers. I've got reprints of the first issues of the Beano and Dandy already but Magic and the Big Five are new. I'm not much of ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

No it doesnt look like the seller had any other indexes for sale. They are selling a lot of different items. But other than some Lion comics and an annual no other comics related items.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I bought a copy of the topper Index (topper tales) from ebay. I need to give it a good read but its excellent so far. It has lots of illustrations. More than I expected. I'm collecting collector's guide... The last one I got was the book of the Beezer which must have been almost 10 years ago. I just...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I picked up a copy of the Knockout Fun Book 1953 for only a pound. It even has all the pages. :D I don't really collect Knockout but I recognised the cover as being drawn by Dandy artist Eric Roberts (most famous for Winker Watson) and the low price persuaded me. I also managed to pick up a 1950 Mag...

Re: Favourite year of `Sparky`

Shouldnt this go in the Retired DCT Titles category? I wish I had enough issues of the Sparky to have a favourite year. I've only got a few annuals plus issue 500. I aim to collect more Sparky annuals in the near future. Regarding a favourite year it would have to be some where in the early/mid 1970...
