Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?
I was watching a copy of the Magic Index on ebay. It sold for just under £80. Out of my budget. But its an index i've been after for a while after getting the topper and Beezer ones. i dont have any issues of the magic comic though outside of Magic Beano books (all my copies except the last are repr...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I think I read that issue 3356 recently (well a couple years ago) and if I remember right the cover has very little to do with the main Dennis the Menace story, it has like a panel or two of him going to the laser maze or laser tag or something then the story veers off in a completely different dire...

Re: DC Thomson Fun-Sizes
Are you sure #325 exists?
Everywhere I see online thinks they only had 324 issues.

Re: Help Identifying A British Annual
Didnt Buster have Superman in too? After it merged with Radio Fun. At least according to the Buster comic fansite it did https://www.bustercomic.com/superman.html I dont know whether it was in annual too. But if it was it would be one of the early Buster annuals. Theres a gallery of them on this sit...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I bought a couple interesting comics recently. Issue 440 of the Beano, the christmas 1950 issue. I got it and the next issue too, 441. 441 is the issue where Lord Snooty's original gang gets partially replaced by a load of old Beano characters. I also have a damaged copy of issue 440, missing the Lo...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Annuals missing pages is a problem I ran into quite a bit when collecting early 1950s Beano annuals. I bought a couple from ebay which were missing pages and it wasnt on the listing. One I got a partial refund on and the other I didnt realise had pages missing until it had gone too long for me to ge...

Re: Undated Dandy Annuals from the 1970s...?
I was going to post this on the "What comics did you buy today?" thread but it makes more sense to put here, even if I'm replying to a 16 year old post! I picked up an undated 1973 Dandy Book recently. I've heard of these before but I've never seen a firm answer of why they're undated. But my copy h...

Re: What is the most difficult comic/mag to complete a collection of?
Are there are any comics where are there no known copies of certain issues. Maybe some of the Gerald Swan comics? My guess for the most difficult comic/mag to complete a collection of is Comic Cuts or Illustrated Chips. Mainly because of their age, the large number of issues and how little I hear co...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Will add - as I can't seem to locate the DIDN'T buy thread: I'm still new and learning about this E Bay thing, and have had a couple of frustration: Five 1970 June and SFs I ordered failed to arrived. Thankfully the dealer kindly refunded me. Still, I'd have preferred those comics (some editions I'...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I do like the cover of that Buster comic. An All-Colour Buster? In 1992? I didnt realise Buster went full colour before the Beano and Dandy did. This was a couple weeks ago rather than today. But I went to my first car boot sale of the season. Surprisingly lacking in comics, I didnt see any at all u...

Re: Some interesting observations about collecting
I find early Beano and Dandy Comic Libraries from the 1980s very common but later issues and fun size Beanos and Dandys are pretty rare. I assume because of lower sales and lower print runs. Which is probably also why Dandy's from after the mid-90s aren't so common.

Re: Where Are The Best Places to Buy Comics These Days?
I tend to buy most of my comics off eBay. The only problems I've had with buying stuff of eBay is annuals missing pages. But I've managed to get (partial) refunds when that was the case and I've had that same problem buying stuff in actual shops too. Regarding buying stuff offline, charity shops, 2n...
