Jon, it's reprinted on page 91 of Denis Gifford's Happy Days: One hundred years of comics, published by Jupiter Books, 1975. Could that be your source?

Steve, you cropped the last panel from that Wack. It had a very funny ending as I recall.

Tony, that is a wonderful analysis. I think you're absolutely spot on.

Re: THE 2010 WORLD CUP THREAD
I find Rooney's arrogance utterly astonishing. His comment as a he walked off the pitch last night sums it all up. You can't play like an uncooked floppy suasage for ninety minutes and then expect total adulation from your supporters. But he does!

Re: Tich and quackers
There was very limited action and a lot of dialogue. I have vague memories of a set in a farmhouse. Quackers only ever quacked, but in the same way that Sweep squeeked. i.e quack quack quaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak. If you get my gist.

Re: Ray Alan RIP
I saw Ray Alan live, years ago. He was brilliant and very, very funny. The stand out moment was Ray donning a white glove, wiping lipstick around the thumb and finger and sticking two beadss on his knuckle - and made a brand new character come to life. he was a genius. I got his autograph too.

Re: Modesty Blaise creator Peter O'Donnell passes away
The Guardian obituary was written by Steve Holland, he's usually spot on. In the same piece he says Richard Burton was in the Modesty Blaise film. It was Dirk Bogarde.
