Re: What comics do you read on a regular basis?

Currently it’s the Red Dagger series which will be followed by the Dan Dare Hawk books but that could be interrupted depending on what Santa brings! After you have finished reading the 30 issues in the RED DAGGER series, Adam, you might consider reading the 30 issues of LUCKY CHARM , the equivalent...

Re: What Christmas Comics Have You Bought Recently?

Will was a man of his word, as always. The nine issues of JUDY and the seven issues of MANDY arrived from 30th Century Comics just after I had got back home from my pre-lunch pint in the White Hart, which was quite handy given that I had to sign for the parcel. I haven't yet removed them from their ...

Re: What Christmas Comics Have You Bought Recently?

No actual Christmas issues, but issues for Christmas, Over the phone I bought nine issues of JUDY and seven issues of MANDY from 30th Century Comics. The total cost including p&p was £47 25p. Will said they will be winging their way down to Cornwall on Thursday, so I will get them before Christmas. ...

I'm puzzled, Col, as to why you don't know the answer to the question you've just asked.

Re: Hi all

I have a reasonable number of issues of SHOOT , all in mint condition, as far as I can see. I bought them all on the week they came out. The run is from September 9th 1978 to May 3rd 1980, at which point there was a five-week strike. My run continues from June 28th 1980 to July 11th 1981 and from Ju...

What wit, Kashgar? I have looked carefully at Steve's post without detecting any wit whatsoever.

Re: RELUCTANTLY SELLING COLLECTION
ok - well if you ever get a chance to send me a PM with the cover to "comic football 1" that would be great so that I can see what it is; I'd be interested in the Colin Curly comic too - send me a PM perhaps?
I think, Richard, that Big Bad Bri might be referring to issue 1...

Re: Micron Combat Library

For my interest in all things Micron and G M Smith publishing, I can thank pawbroon for breaking through my resistance in collecting picture libraries other than Commando, Starblazer and Football. Paw Broon!!!!! Now there's a name from the past. According to his 'Viewing Profile' he has not been ac...

Re: British Comic Swapmeet 28th September

Kudos to Bruce Scott for organising a gret day out and thanks to Steve "Action Man" MacManus", Mike Dorey, Alan Hebden and James Nicholas for being kind enough to give up of their time and let us fanboy all over him. I'm sure that there is no such thing as a 'gret day', Col, nor a verb 'to fanboy'....

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I didn't say I was any good, Steve. I can see the correct shots but quite a lot goes wrong from that point. Russ is a reasonable player and Alex is definitely learning steadily, but doesn't yet take the game seriously.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

'I now only have 114 issues missing from the full run' sounds like you're getting the thrill of the hunt in your nostrils, Derek. Next you'll be telling yourself I'll just try to get that number into double figures Sorry about the delay in replying, Ray, but this afternoon I took Lois and Alex plus...

Next you'll be telling yourself I'll just try to get that number into double figures! That's one way of looking at it, Ray, but my real aim is to have enough instalments...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Orpington High Street.. My mother's brother, uncle Cyril and his wife, my auntie Mary, lived in Orpington. In Goddington Lane if memory serves. Their two sons, Michael and John, both went to Oxford University. My father used to hold them up as an example for me to follow, but I didn't want to go ei...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Earlier in the week I ordered 13 issues of BUNTY (eleven from 1958 : two from 1960) from 30th Century Comics. They arrived this morning, suitably bagged and protected as always. I'm very happy with them. I now only have 114 issues missing from the full run, very few of them being contiguous. I rang ...
