Re: Beano and Dandy fashion range.
John Freeman has posted about it on Down the Tubes - some of the items look rather fun, but I wonder what the price tag ££ is!

IGNCC - International Graphic Novels and Comics Conference
A few months ago I saw a Call for Papers for the IGNCC event in Bournemouth (http://internationalgraphicnovelandcomicsconference.com/). This is an academic conference on the theme of 'Retro! Time, Memory, Nostalgia' - and a number of people interested in different aspects of British comics seem to h...

It is indeed lovely stuff Phil, as you say. We shall have to try to ensure that his name is revived rather than forgotten!

Bought the latest collection of Corpse Talk from the pages of the Phoenix - this one is called "Groundbreaking Women" and all the characters included are women. It's really excellent, I laughed out loud more than once.

Re: British comics in Egyptian magazine Samir
Hi there,
I don't recognize any of these as either British or American. I wonder if they might have been drawn locally, for the Egyptian market?

Roy Newby - post on the Jinty blog
Roy Newby only drew a couple of stories in Jinty, but what I wsn't aware of until I went and did the research was that he was a long-running and significant artist on girls comics. Blog post about him, with some art samples and some memories from his family, here: https://jintycomic.wordpress.com/20...

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans
My knowledge of DCT titles and stories is rather lacking, so I can't really come up with my own list very well. The story about the Frightful Fours was rather good, I remember from earlier posts on this forum; and likewise I would put in votes for Wendy at War and for the White Mouse, but really onl...

Christine Ellingham - artist on Concrete Surfer, now found!
Some of you may already have seen this on my Facebook or on the Jinty blog (but probably not the latter, as it was just done as comments on old posts and not visible in recent entries as yet). Exciting news - the previously-unknown artist of a number of lovely Jinty strips and covers has written in ...

So happy I finally get to read Human Zoo & Land of No tears, Huge credit to Rebellion. Also hope they release Robot who Cried, Forbidden Garden and Girl in a Bubble which all sound good. Can anyone say if they are worth reprinting. If you want to read a sample episode and a summary of these, you ca...
