Yeah, the earlier ones are. That's why I'm trying to obtain as many 1940s and earlier Dandy & Beano comics before they become too scarce Ozzycris43 Coincidentally, I did buy recently two early 1950s Beano comics and some rather expensive Evil Dead comic art . Will upload them to the forum asap.Ozzycris43 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 18:39Thats very rareInto The Abyss wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 20:59Got 5 more Dandy comics from the late 1940s. Pics to follow a.s.a.p.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Just had delivery of my Beano comics No.428 & No.410 from 1950 in VG+ condition. Sadly issue No.410 was damaged in transit so not able to upload it to the forum. Also, secured another page of Evil Dead graphic comic art. You can check it out by clicking on the link below.

Ozzycris43, yes I did years ago. Not so much now sadly. Some superb stories and love the art in those comics. Coincidentally I've got a page if Whizzer & Chips and Krazy art uploaded on the forum somewhere? I think they are an inner page and front from annuals out in the early/ mid eighties.
Check out below the iconic art from one uploaded a few years back. Think you'll be familiar with it.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
A lady dropped this bundle into my shop today, as people ken I like this sort of thing.
Mostly juvenile stuff but I didn't have any of it already (except for the Dandy which is in better condition than mine)
I'd never heard of the worzel comic before so that's always good, and the Danger Man annual is pretty cool as well!

I have the following Buster Puzzle Specials: 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979. For now I'm only collecting Busters between the years 1960 - 1981. Of those years I'm missing the 1975 and 1981 Puzzle Special.
I do have both of the Buster Book Of Spooky Stories.
I can't upload the covers here as it's too complicated - there doesn't seem to be an easy way to upload pictures.
Regards,
Chalky
Re: What comics did you buy today?
Hi Ozzychris43,
Unfortunately none of my Busters are for sale. Your best bet is to check the following sources on a regular basis:
* Philcomics (Ebay)
* Ebay
* 30th Century comics website
I obtained both of my Buster Book of Spooky Stories and the Buster Puzzle Specials on the above sites. It will take time. I started back collecting in 2019 after selling the lot in 2012. I was lucky to get most of the Puzzle Specials for about £17 each but had to pay over £100 for one of them. I probably paid about £25 each approx for the Spooky Stories - these appear more frequently than the Puzzle Specials.
Good luck in your search!
