Those are some nice looking covers. Really love that christmas crossover one. It reminds me of a couple of other christmas crossovers that appeared on the covers in the 1940s that were reprinted in the recent Beano Dandy Classic Comic covers book from Phil-comics. I just got my copy out to check if its the same one but nope that christmas 1953 is completely different, but issue 334 from 1946 has a very similar all the characters round the table christmas panel. I put the book away and just realised that the panel I was thinking of is even on the book's front cover :)

Thanks TCT for that info. Yeah, those issues are in superb condition. Just love the covers. All were surprisingly clean & crisp for 70 years old. Oh, and the snowcapped issue is from December 26th 1953. I'm slowly sourcing Christmas issues when able, but boy is it a costly exercise. Thankfully I was lucky to buy these issues for a fair price.🙂 💸

Nice looking Dandy. That Brickie's outfit looks suspiciously similar to what Desperate Dan wears. Although I don't think they'd finalised what colours it was back in 1946.

Thanks TCT. Yeah, the comic's in lovely condition. And come to think about you're right about the brickie's similar attire to what Desperate Dan wore. Very observant. 🙂

Had delivery of my 1951 Christmas Dandy comic no.527. Wasn't in VF condition as stated by the seller but I graded it somewhere between VG+ to FN -. Love the cover though. :)

A few annuals in the local charity shops today.

One shop had a number of Hotspur Victor and Tiger annuals at £10 each.
Not the sort of price I'm looking for and strangely enough they had a Knockout 1955 annual and that was only £5.

Also in the same shop they had 5 U.S comics at £5 each and a Bomba jungle boy comic at £10 which I would have bought but not at that price.

Another charity shop had a lot of mainly D C Thomas annuals at £2 each.
I parted with £2 and bought the Topper 1973 annual as shown.

Spent £2 , well ,that would have counted as a lot in victorian times.

I got that same annual a couple of weeks ago.
Its a good one, its the last one with David Law's Beryl the Peril in it.
I managed to beat you on price only cost me a quid.

Well done abacus. Some great annuals obtained. 🙂👍

Recently bought myself not a comic but an original BBC Ronnie Corbett, "Sorry" series rehearsal script and an "Ain't Half Hot Mum'"camera script owned by warm-up man & actor Felix Bowness. He played the miserable jockey in the classic series Hi-De-Hi. Got also some original Polaroids taken on set of "Ain't Half Hot Mum" too. About 20+ I think? Look good together. 😎

Hi Ozzycris43,
I have the following Buster Puzzle Specials: 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979. For now I'm only collecting Busters between the years 1960 - 1981. Of those years I'm missing the 1975 and 1981 Puzzle Special.

I do have both of the Buster Book Of Spooky Stories.

I can't upload the covers here as it's too complicated - there doesn't seem to be an easy way to upload pictures.

Regards,
Chalky
