The first Modesty Blaise strip appeared in the Evening Standard 50 years ago today. I started following it in 1976 and I never tire of reading the strips thanks to Peter O'Donnell's excellent scripts. On the artwork front I have great admiration for Jim Holdaway's work but Enric Romero's version will always be my Modesty.
I think it's a shame that John M Burns was removed from the series although I remember finding his Modesty a litle jarring at times. I also grew to appreciate Neville Colvin's work after not being too keen when he first took over.
