I've received an Email from a Comics UK visitor who would like to know the artists name for Thorne Smith's Skin and Bones illustrated text story from issues of Top Spot #18 (21 February 1959) through Issue No. 29 (9 May 1959).

If you know, please put George out of his misery.

Bugger! I know the artist and it is on the tip of my tongue!!! He is definitely a Brit artist and was better known for his satirical cartoons. Was a peer of Giles and Thelwell. Arrgghhh! I should be able to give the name but can't get it at the moment. Must be an indicator that I am having a senior moment...
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

Well it spells: PMICAR

Comparing it with his signature on a number of other cartoons from the same period I'd guess that it says 'P. Millar'.

Looking good.
Philip Millar drew Sam's Snake, Willie Getaway and Herman's Horrorscopr in Sparky; Olly's Occy in Buzz; and Jest a Minute in Jet;
I've Emailed George (the originator of the question for this thread) to see what he thinks.
Thanks for all your help chaps!

I always wondered who drew those strips! Thanks Al.
Now you mention it there is a distinct similarity in the inkline. The style is a bit different, but cartoonists often adapted their styles to suit whatever medium they worked for.

Did the same chap draw particularly risque seaside postcards and sign them as Pedro? This would have been in the early seventies.
