dandy.com is no more. I don't know how recently this happened, but it now redirects to the DC Thomson Shop.

Maybe something's a foot? (Re: The Cuddles & Dimples thread raised by NP).
Most likely not but you never know.

The Dandy seems to be still running as an annual though?

Re: Website gone
I said Dandy.com is gone, not the brand itself. Yes, it still appears twice a year as an annual and a summer special. But at this point we can safely say they won't be giving the digital Dandy another try.

time for a merger with beano ,scream disappeared for months before merging with eagle so it can be done.
Re: Website gone
Interesting query is this: how have the sales of the Dandy annual held up since its weekly demise? How do they compare to Beano annual sales?

I've no idea on sales figures but I do know my local Smiths has completely sold out of The Dandy Annual already, weeks ahead of Christmas.geoff42 wrote:Interesting query is this: how have the sales of the Dandy annual held up since its weekly demise? How do they compare to Beano annual sales?

That's good to hear, Lew! I wonder if Smiths will break with tradition, allow common sense to trump the computer logic, realise that most people (surely) haven't finished their Christmas shopping yet, and order some more copies for the shelves??!
Would be interesting to see if that happens!

Re: Website gone
I wouldn't worry. There was one year that a lot of Dennis and Gnasher annuals wound up in Poundland. The next year's - which would have been in preparation already - was the last. Clearly they ended up in the pound shop because they'd printed too many and lots hadn't sold. If The Dandy Annual is selling out, that's a good thing, because it means shops didn't order enough. Logically, even if they don't order more this year, they'll place a larger order next year.

Re: Website gone
There's still plenty of dandy annuals in the 3 london branches of whs i was in last week.
Re: Website gone
This year, I bought Dandy annual, along with Beano, from my local Tesco. Previous two years, only Beano was available. I guess that's encouraging.
