Dudley Watkins- More Dan (particularly longer stories extending over weeks like in the 1979 annual) or Lord Snooty collections, and any of his adventure stories.

any Leo Baxendale (but possibly there are legal issues)

early David Sutherland Bash Street Kids- probably all already reprinted in the annuals, but too long ago. Again!

David Law's Beryl the Peril (likewise)

I agree I'd love to see another collection of Desperate Dan and Lord Snooty..one volume of each is not enough..rereading the large size books again..also the longer stories collected would be great..I'm sure dishes knew of the previous books before as said he would like to see more..

Bash street kids first annual showed reprints of 1969...so earlier would be great to see of David Sutherland ..also not every years week were in the Bash Street annuals...

Oh dear... Lord Snotty? anyway, those books are from 1997 and 1998. 13-14 years ago.

One of the Bash Street Kids annuals ended with the story involving the inspector closing the school down. The remaining two parts of this story were never reprinted. Part 2 involved them getting a makeover, and part 3, their 40th anniversary story, had Plug restore the regular status quo.

I forgot that I mentioned on another thread I'd like to see book colllections of Jamie Smart's Desperate Dan and Nigel Parkinson's Harry Hill. I still would!

In America right right now there seems to be a golden age of classic comic strip reprints- IDW, Fantagraphics, Drawn and Quarterly and many others are reprinting dozens of classic American newspaper comic strips, including some real obscurities that just a few years ago would be considered a commercial no-go area. They've reprinted at least one European strip too, Tove Jansson's "Moomin". I keep expecting the bubble to burst and even the most dedicated comic strip historians will run out of money to buy these handsome, hardback archival collected editions- or at least run out of shelf space. But on it goes despite the recession.

I suppose what I really wish is that the very best of British comics (I mean only the real crème de la crème, not stuff we just have sentimental attachment to) could get this treatment, that comic collectors throughout the world get to discover (mostly for the first time) these artists we admire so much. But I don't know how a publisher could bring this about.

I totally agree with the collected 'Puss and Boots' and 'I Spy', Dishes! It's taken me a long time indeed to [almost] collect these epic works from start to finish---I'm getting there though.

A lavish reprinting of the Beezer's Jellymen' in full-colur would be a treat [I think you mentioned this idea ages ago, Peter!]

I would also buy the collected 'Island of Monsters', the 'Purple Cloud' [from Dandy], and the 'Iron Eaters' from 'Beezer'.

Harry Hill would most likely be impossible unfortunately. His license only covers the comic itself - that's why he's not in the Dandy annual (same reason The Bogies have never been in it either).
