I agree that a digi comic leaves something to be desired when compared to the paper original, but there are 2 areas where digital comics have paper comics beat hands-down - storage space and ease of research. If you include the contents of each comic page in the file name when scanning, you can do a windows explorer search to find all occurrences of a particular strip. If you go further and record artist and writer info in the file name (as I do) then research become even easier. Admittedly, it's a lot of work to record all this data in the first place, but once it's done it means you don't have to lug piles of comics around when you want to find something, and it's good to know one has a digital back up of your paper collection - not that I've scanned all my comics.
