Before this gets any more mixed up can I just repeat that at no point did I think Matrix was being a "sleazeball"! I simply thought that when he presented illustrations from girl's comics into a discussion about "saucy" adult cartoons that he'd innocently misunderstood the topic of conversation, that's all. I have to admit, I have seriously thought about taking similarly drastic action in the past. I've had lots of posts misunderstood or taken the wrong way in my year on Comics UK - somewhat more than the general average, I reckon - and sometimes the results have been very nasty indeed. I share your misgivings about emoticons, and I try to use them as little as possible, because I feel that if they're necessary to add clarity to a post, then you plainly haven't made your post clear enough. It's like wearing a rubber mask with a smile painted on because you can't muster up a real one.
